About Us

Ambience Dental is a practice that has been over 40 years in the making. A union of three talented and professional dentists, the practice prides itself on
providing high-quality dental care in a warm and supportive environment.

Here is the story of our 40-year journey and how we have grown from a small surgery to the full- service dental practice you’ll find today:

Our 40 Year Journey

It all began over 40 years ago when Dr John pearman, an enthusiastic and ambitious young dentist, moved from Sydney to take over the Figtree Dental surgery. The small two-chair surgery had only been open for six months at the time, but its bubbly and cheerful receptionist, Kim Sutherland, created a warm welcome for its patients and its new owner.

1985 – Dr John Saad joined the surgery as an associate dentist, paving the way to the Pearman and Saad Legacy and it was by no coincidence that he chose Figtree Dental. When Dr Saad was in his fifth year of dental school, he visited Dr Pearman for a filling. During the procedure, Dr Pearman said ‘by the way, when you finish dental school, you’re working here.’ And, fortunately for us all, so he did.

1987- Dr Saad progressed from associate dentist to partner and the surgery’s name was changed to the Pearman & Saad Dental Surgery. To account for the change, the practice was renovated and expanded into a four-chair dental surgery.

2010 – The final piece to the puzzle, Dr Ahmed Bedeir joined the practice as an associate dentist. He demonstrated excellent clinical skills and potential and by 2014 had taken on the role of practice principal.

2014 – To cater to the needs of its growing patient base, the surgery moved to Fairy Meadow and rebranded as Ambience Dental with Pearman, Saad, and Bedeir at the helm.

Today – you’ll still find Kim at reception, offering the same warm and bubbly welcome to our patients. However, the surgery has grown to encompass a myriad of accomplished dentists, hygienists and nurses who are passionate about providing dental care to the Wollongong and Illawarra community. The surgery is equipped to perform not only general dentistry but sedation dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, implants, full-mouth rehabilitation, veneers, teeth whitening and crown and bridge restorations. Whatever your needs, at Ambience Dental, we’ve got you covered.

Pearman & Saad Dental Surgery has been the nursing ground for many dentists in the Illawarra. Over the years the team has grown to encompass a myriad of accomplished dentists and efficient staff who worked towards serving the dental care needs of the Illawarra community with care and compassion.

Our experienced team of dentists, hygienists and nurses are fully qualified and equipped to perform General Dentistry, Sedation Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry, Implants, Full-mouth rehabilitation, Veneers, Teeth Whitening, and Crown & Bridge.
