All On 4 Wollongong
Transform Your Smile With Natural And Comfortable Tooth Replacement
If you struggle with lost or damaged teeth or uncomfortable dentures, then you will know the effect it can have on your life. When our teeth don’t function properly, it can impact what we eat, how we smile, and how we talk, all of which can have a significant effect on our self-confidence. Fortunately, if this sounds familiar, you don’t have to continue suffering. All on 4 dental implants are an advanced technique allowing a full arch of teeth to be supported on just four implants. The procedure offers many of the same benefits as traditional dental implants while being faster, less invasive and suitable for more patients, making All on Four implants something to really smile about.
What Are All On 4 Dental Implants?
All on 4 is an advanced dental implant technique that has revolutionised implant dentistry. The implants themselves, similarly to traditional dental implants, are small titanium screws that are placed within the jawbone to replace the tooth’s root. However, with conventional implants, an implant can only support a few replacement teeth, and a full arch requires eight or more. With the All on Four technique, an entire arch can be supported with just four dental implants.
Conventional implants require a certain amount of bone density, which can often be lacking in the back of the mouth. To strengthen the jaw bone and enable implants to be placed, preliminary treatments such as bone grafting and sinus augmentation can be required. This adds time, cost and complexity to the procedure. The All on 4 technique, on the other hand, works by implants being cleverly angled at 45 degrees to avoid bone deficient areas while retaining strength. So, instead of an implant being required for every few teeth, a whole arch can be supported with just four.
What Is The All On 4
Procedure Like?
1.
The first stage in the All on 4 procedure is a full assessment with one of our experienced implant dentists. This enables us to fully understand what you’d like to achieve, to assess your dental and medical history and to take x-rays and moulds to give us an accurate picture of your jawbone and mouth. At the end of the assessment, we will put together a detailed treatment plan and will have everything we need to use as a template for your new teeth.
2.
When you come for the procedure itself, you may well be surprised how quick it is. The first step is to meet with your anaesthetist, who will put you at ease and ensure the procedure is pain-free. After that, All on Four implants can be placed in just a few short hours. And, you won’t have to wait long for your replacement teeth. Shortly after the procedure, we will fit your replacement teeth securely to your implants. When we fit your teeth, we’ll review how the teeth fit together, examine the position and check your bite, ensuring you’re perfectly happy with how they feel.
3.
You’ll need to look after your All on Four implants and replacement teeth after the procedure. We advise you to take it easy to start with and to ensure you eat a soft, healthy diet and drink plenty of water. Within a few days, however, you should be feeling good as new.
4.
It’s worth noting, however, that it still takes up to six months for the jaw bone to grow around the implants, locking them firmly in place. That said, we’ll give you all the advice and guidance you need to give your new smile the care it needs.
The Benefits Of All On
Four Dental Implants
All on 4 implants offer many of the same benefits as traditional dental
implants, they enable your teeth to function like new and work to
preserve your jaw bone structure, maintaining your facial aesthetics and
keeping you feeling and looking younger. However, the revolutionary
technique offers several additional benefits to conventional implants:
Simplicity
All on Four avoids areas of the mouth that have reduced bone density. This prevents the need for additional procedures and makes the procedure much less invasive while speeding up the healing and rehabilitation process
Faster
The dental implants are strategically placed to deliver high torque values and this enables replacement teeth to be fitted immediately (on the same day) Instead of patients having to wait months for the implants to fuse with the jawbone.
More Accessible
Conventional implants can
require additional work to
build bone density. However,
All on Four doesn’t require
the same bone density due to
the positioning of the
implants, making it suitable
for more patients and more
complex cases.
More Flexible
With fewer implants
supporting the replacement
teeth, there is more flexibility
to design and fit the
optimum replacement teeth
that look and feel just the
way they should.
After having All on Four dental implants, you’ll be able to eat and speak normally, your jawbone structure will be preserved, and your facial aesthetics will be restored.
