Your First Visit To Ambience Dental

Everything You Need To Know Before Your Visit

Visiting the dentist for the first time can be a daunting experience, but it doesn’t have to be. At Ambience Dental, we will help you feel at ease from the moment you step through the door. You can be rest assured that when you arrive at reception, our friendly staff will greet you and let you know what you need to do and where you need to go.

Here is everything you need to know, including how to find us, what to bring with you and what will happen at your appointment.

How To Find Us?

Our practice is located in the Ambience Shopping Mall directly above Coles supermarket. You can get to the second floor by taking the lift next to Coles. Once you’re there, follow the signs down the hallway to our reception area.

Where To Park?

If you’re driving to your appointment, the last thing you want to worry about is where you’re going to park. Fortunately, as our practice is within the shopping centre, we benefit from a luxury secured basement car park. There are always plenty of spaces and, once you’re parked up, all you need to do is jump in the lift to the second floor.

Are There Good Public Transport Links?

We’re located in the perfect spot just a five minute walk away from Fairy Meadow station.

If you’d prefer to get the bus, all you have to do is cross the street to Elliots Road where you can jump on the free Gong Shuttle. The Gong Shuttle runs every 10 to 20 minutes seven days a week. Route numbers 55A and 55C can take you in both directions on a loop from Wollongong Station to Wollongong University via Wollongong Hospital Burelli Street and the Innovation Campus.

What Does the Practice Look Like?

To help ease any anxiety you may have about what the practice looks like, why not take a virtual tour. As you’ll see, our reception area is fresh, clean and bright and our waiting areas are designed to make you as comfortable as possible. Even young children won’t mind the wait with a colourful room designed specifically to keep them occupied.

What To Bring To Your
First Appointment?

When you arrive for your first appointment, you’ll be asked to fill out a new patient form with details of your medical and dental history. To fill out the form, you’ll need your health fund card, a list of any medications you take and your medicare card if your children are seeking treatment under the Child Dental Benefit Schedule.

Make sure you arrive at least ten minutes before your appointment, so you’ve got time to fill out all the necessary details. Alternatively, you can download our new patient form, fill it out at home and then bring it along with you.

Ambience Dental accepts all health funds and is a Bupa Members first practice. On the day of your appointment, you’ll be able to claim your health fund benefits through our hicaps machine.  We accept payments in cash, cheques or major credit cards.

What Will Happen At
Your First Appointment?

When you arrive for your appointment, you’ll be greeted by our friendly reception staff. They will get you signed in, give you the new patient form to fill in and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

Once you’ve filled in your form, and it’s time for your appointment, a member of our clinical team will come to greet you and will escort you to one of our treatment rooms. From that point on, what happens will vary depending on your primary reason for visiting us:
